Saturday May, 21 2011 @ 21:05:46 Nature: Traffic/TransportationAcdntALS Location: Mount Joy Road @ Cannon Road Address: 28872 - 29051 Mount Joy Rd Millsboro, DE 19966 On Saturday evening, May 21st, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a personal injury vehicle collision involving a bicyclist and car. It appears that a black 4 door Dodge Caliber was traveling north on Mount Joy Road just past the intersection of Cannon Road and collided with a bicyclist. The Delaware State Police Aviation Unit (Trooper #2) as well as the Sussex County Paramedics were required to respond and provide assistance. Indian River’s Duty Officer, Ryan Mock requested that Rescue 80 perform the following tasks: assist with patient stabilization; establish lighting for the incident; and establish a landing zone for Trooper #2. Engine #80-5 was assigned to assist with the aforementioned assignments. The Delaware State Fire Police were required to close Mount Joy Road between Cannon Road and Maryland Camp Road for the duration of the incident. The Delaware State Police are investigating.
