Nature: Vehicle Accident
Location: John J Williams Hwy and Rosedale Road, Millsboro, DE 19966
On Wednesday afternoon, January 16th, 2019, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway in the vicinity of Rosedale Road. It was reported to be a single vehicle incident involving a utility pole.
Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.
Emergency response unit assignments included traffic control, scene preservation, vehicle stabilization and assist with patient stabilization if needed. The Delmarva Power & Light Company was notified in order to evaluated the utility pole.
It appears that a Honda SUV was traveling on John J. Williams Highway and left the roadway for an unknown reason striking a utility pole parallel with the roadway. The local emergency medical services provider transported on occupant to nearby medical facilities for additional observations.
The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration.
The Delaware State Police are investigating.
