Traffic Interruptions and Road Closure Information:

Funeral Services on January 8, 2019 for Firefighter Lt. Jason M. Faulkner, Sr.

Millsboro:  The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) alerts motorists to anticipate delays for the funeral services of Indian River Volunteer Firefighter Lt. Jason M. Faulkner, Sr. on Tuesday, January 8, 2019.

 The Viewing Services will be held from 10:00 AM until Noon at the Mother Mary of Peace Church. Mass will begin at Noon at the Mother Mary of Peace Church, 30839 Mount Joy Road in Millsboro.

 Mount Joy Road between Route 24/John J. Williams Highway and Cordrey Road will be closed between the hours of 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM.

 After Mass, the Processional Services will be held at the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company, Station 2, 32628 Oak Orchard Road in Millsboro.

 After leaving the Mother Mary of Peace Church, the procession will travel east onto Route 24/John J. Williams Highway to Banks Road. Turning right onto Banks Road and travel to the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company, Station 2 for Last Call.   Banks Road will be closed at a minimum from Long Neck Road to Winding Creek Village from approximately 12:45 pm to 1:45 pm.

 The Interment Services will be held at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way in Millsboro.  The anticipated route of travel will be from Indian River Station #2 Banks Road onto School Lane to Bay Farm Road.  Turning right on Bay Farm Road and traveling to John J. Williams Highway turning left and traveling to Millsboro.  Turning right onto State Road and traveling Patriots Way. 

 After the Interment Services, a reception will be held at the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company.

 In anticipation of possible delays in the area, DelDOT’s Transportation Management Center (TMC) will be monitoring traffic via radio and cameras along the route.  DelDOT will have personnel positioned throughout the area to ensure traffic flow.
