Nature: Structure Fire

Location: 31013 Holly Lake Rd Millsboro, DE 19966

On Sunday morning, January 6, 2019, the Indian River (80), Lewes (82), and Rehoboth Beach (86) fire companies were alerted for a structure fire on Holly Lake Road.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Ladder 80 and Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility as well as Engine #80-3 from the Long Neck facility.

Emergency response crews were limited to one Engine #80-3 with all other responding apparatus being cancelled and returned to their respective station(s).

It appears that the property owner had recently clean and discarded fireplace ashes improperly in a Tupperware container outside on the porch area which caused a disturbance.  The issue was quickly extinguished causing minor damage to the residential structure.

The Delaware State Fire Marshal was notified.
