Nature: Vehicle Accident w/Medics

Location: 28508-28545 Warwick Rd Millsboro, DE 19966

 

Early Sunday, January 6, 2019, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident involving a vehicle into the water at the end of Warwick Road near Bulls Eye Landing.  It was reported to be a single vehicle accident with the car well into the waterway.

 

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility as well as Command 80, Engine #80-1 and Brush #80-0 from the Long Neck facility.  The Sussex County Paramedics and the local emergency medical services responded as well.

 

Emergency response crews included donning water submersible suits and access the water to ascertain the status of any occupants in the vehicle as well as connecting vehicle extrication cables.  It was determined that the vehicle was empty and all occupants had left the scene of the accident.

 

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated scene security and traffic control.

 

The Delaware State Police are investigating and the Delaware State Police Aviation Unit (Trooper #2) was utilized to provide surveillance while searching for the occupants of the vehicle.
