Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: Long Neck Rd and School Lane Millsboro, DE 19966

On Friday afternoon, November 16^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was working a vehicle accident on Mount Joy Road when a dispatch from the Sussex County Emergency Operations Center sounded for a second alarm in the fire district.  This incident was also a vehicle accident on School Lane at the Long Neck Road intersection.  It was reported to be a two-vehicle collision.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.  Additional ancillary alerts included the local EMS provider.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, fluid and debris recovery, traffic control and overall incident mitigation.

It appears that a maroon Chevrolet Silverado and a maroon Subaru Impreza collided causing front end damage to both vehicles.  The Impreza was in the left turn land of School Lane and the Silverado was making a left turn from Long Neck Road onto School Lane when the collision occurred.  All occupants refused medical attention.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.
