Thursday March, 17 2011 @ 19:33:27 Nature: Traffic/TransportationAcdntALS Address: 24848 - 24949 Banks Rd Millsboro, DE 19966 On Thursday evening, March 17th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a serious motor vehicle accident involving a motorcycle on Banks Road near Millsboro. The Sussex County Paramedics and the Delaware State Police Aviation Unit was alerted to provide assistance as well. Engine #80-5 responded from the Long Neck facility responded and Jason M. Faulkner was operating as the incident commander. After an initial observation, the incident was downgraded to include the Paramedics, Engine #80-5, the local EMS provider and the Delaware State Police ground units. It appears that the motorcycle was traveling on Banks Road near some sharp curves and left the roadway for an unknown reason ejecting the rider. The local EMS provider transported the motorcyclist to nearby medical facilities. The Delaware State Police are investigating.
