Sunday January, 23 2011 @ 17:55:23 Nature: Burns (Scalds)/Explosion-BLS Location: on inside of circle Address: 33 Tecumseh Pass Millsboro, DE 19966 On Sunday evening, January 23rd, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted to establish a landing zone for the Delaware State Police Aviation Unit (Trooper #2) that was required to transport a priority burn patient. It appears that person was performing maintenance and repairs on a personal vehicle (changing the fuel filter) when he dropped his “extension light” that broke and ignited a fire. It was reported that the person suffered severe burns and would require an aviation unit for transportation to the Crozier-Chester Burn Center near Upland, Pennsylvania. Duty Officer Hayden Klingler responded to the incident and requested that Engine #80-1 establish a landing zone on John J. Williams Highway near the entrance to Indian Summer Village. Engine #80-3 was re-directed to respond to the incident location to evaluate the vehicle and residence for any damage as a result of the extinguished fire. The Delaware State Fire Marshall was required to conduct an investigation
