Story
Tuesday January, 11 2011 @ 07:48:12 Nature: Structure Fire Address: 25731 Holiday Dr Millsboro, DE 19966 On Tuesday morning, January 11, the Indian River, Millsboro and Lewes fire companies were alerted for a structure on Holiday Drive in the Holiday Pines development. Chief Steven C. Deery, Jr. responded to the incident and established the incident command assignment and requested that Engine #80-3 obtain the pressurized water can and overhaul tools to mitigate the pellet stove fire with extension into the side walls of the residential structure. Engine #82-4 was requested to initiate positive pressure ventilation while all other responding units were permitted to return to their respective stations. It appears that the pellet stove’s heat ignited the residential wall due to improper installation of the flue vent pipe. The Delaware State Fire Marshall was notified of the incidents and the situation was mitigated with 20 minutes of being dispatched to the location.
