On Monday afternoon, September 10th, the Indian River (80), Rehoboth Beach (86) and Bethany Beach (70) volunteer fire companies were alerted for a water rescue incident in the Indian River Inlet involving a jet skier that had fallen off his jet ski.
Emergency response units from Indian River included Utility 80-8 with 80 Marine 2 from the Oak Orchard facility. Emergency response units from Rehoboth Beach and Indian River were cancelled while in route to the Massey’s Landing Public Boat Ramp. Emergency medical service personnel did continue to the incident location in order to evaluate the jet skiier further.
It appears that a jet skier had fallen off of his jet ski and was assisted by by-standing at the Indian River Inlet. The jet ski drifted out passed the inlet washed ashore north of the Inlet on Tuesday, September 11.
