Saturday December, 18 2010 @ 11:12:06 Nature: Stab/Gunshot/Penetrating-ALS Address: 353 Lagoon Ln Millsboro, DE 19966 On Saturday morning, December 18th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a medical assist and landing zone assignment involving a stabbing or gunshot penetrating type injury on Lagoon Lane, Mariner’s Cove off of Long Neck Road. The Sussex County Emergency Operations Center alerted the local emergency medical service provider, the Sussex County Paramedics, the Delaware State Police and the Delaware State Fire Police for the aforementioned incident. All responding units excluding the Delaware State Police were required to stage prior to the incident location pending determination of a secure scene. The incident was declared a Priority 1 - high medical emergency with an aviation flight to Christiana Medical Center in New Castle County. Emergency response units provided assistance with lifting and transporting patient to the Delaware State Police Aviation Unit. The Delaware State Fire Police provided assistance with traffic during the incident mitigation.
