Nature: Vehicle Accident

On Wednesday evening, August 22^nd, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Long Neck Road at the entrance of Massey’s Landing Public Boat Ramp.  It was reported to be a single vehicle incident.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility, Engine #80-1 and Rescue 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, debris and fluid recovery, traffic control, and incident mitigation efforts. 

It appears that the dark blue Ford sedan was traveling down Long Neck Road and failed to successfully navigate the entrance to the Massey’s Landing Public Boat Ramp striking the concrete median and continuing into the parking lot causing significant damage to the under carriage of the vehicle.

The Delaware State Fire Police provided traffic control assistance for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
