Nature: Vehicle Accident w/Entrapment

Location: Pot Nets Bayside Main Gate – Pot Nets Road & Long Neck Road

Early Saturday morning, August 11^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Long Neck Road at or near the entrance to Pot Nets Road.  It was reported to be a two-vehicle collision with possible entrapment.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 and Command 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, traffic control, scene mitigation, fluid and debris recovery, and assistance with patient extrication.

It appears that a white BMW was traveling on Long Neck Road and struck broadside by a white compact car departing from Pot Nets Road onto Long Neck Road.  Both vehicles sustained damage.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
