Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: Entrance Of Parking Lot 39-42 Masseys Lndg Millsboro, DE 19966

On Friday evening, August 10^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident off of Long Neck Road at the Massey’s Landing Public Boat Launch.  It was reported to be a large noise; however, the reporting parties did not desire to ascertain the nature or rationale for the noise.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 and Command 80 from the Long Neck facilities and Ladder 80 from the Oak Orchard facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, patient assessment if needed, traffic control, fluid and debris recovery.

It appears that a Honda sedan was traveling down Long Neck Road and did not successfully navigate the entrance turn into the Massey’s Landing area.

The Delaware State Police and Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control are investigating.
