Story
Friday November, 12 2010 @ 09:00:12 Nature: Residential Rescue Address: 34347 Westwood Drive North, Millsboro, DE 19966 On Friday morning, November 12th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a residential rescue incident involving a child. The location of the incident was on Westwood Drive North in the Pot Nets Creekside development off of Long Neck Road. The Sussex County Emergency Operations Center alerted Indian River responding apparatus that initial reports indicated a child with tea pot stuck on her head. Emergency response personnel found a toddler whom was playing with a plastic “Disney” toy teapot product when it became lodged on her head and stuck as a result of the tight fit and suction. Initially, emergency response personnel found the toddler eating a popsicle, sitting in a chair with the teapot lodged on her head. Emergency response personnel coordinated the removal of the toy teapot by cracking the base of the teapot and then cutting the material away all the time keeping the child entertained and thinking about other items. The child did not need any additional medical evaluations.
