Sunday September, 12 2010 @ 05:11:49 Nature: Vehicle Fire Location: Autumn Road near Friendship Road Address: 25614-25755 Autumn Rd., Millsboro, DE 19966 Early Sunday morning of September 12th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a reported vehicle fire on Autumn Road in the vicinity of Friendship Road. Duty Officer Eric Ruckle responded directly to the incident and determined that a Dodge Pick-up located in the westbound lane of Autumn Road was involved in the incident. Nearby residents identified that the vehicle was there for an extended period of time before any notifications to the Sussex County Emergency Operations Center transpired. Duty Officer Ruckle identified that Engine #80-1 would be sufficient for the incident. Engine #80-1 was required to activate the trash line and saturate the vehicle thereby suppressing the fire. The Delaware State Police and the Delaware State Fire Marshal were notified of the incident. The Delaware State Police are investigating the incident.
