Nature: Vehicle Accident

On Tuesday afternoon, July 17th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Long Neck Road near Cove Liquors and the entrance to Mariner’s Cove. It was reported to be a two-vehicle collision.
Emergency response units from Indian River included Utility 80-11 and Ladder 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Rescue 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.
Emergency response crew assignments included assistance with patient stabilization, vehicle stabilization, debris and fluid recovery, traffic control, and incident mitigation activities.
It appears that a maroon Chrysler Pacifica mini-van and a black Ford F150 pick-up collided at or near the intersection causing front-end damage to the Ford and driver’s side damage to the Chrysler. The occupant of the mini-van required assistance with extrication and was transported to nearby medical facilities.
The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.
The Delaware State Police are investigating.
