Friday August, 6 2010 @ 20:34:14 Nature: Traffic/TransportationAcdntBLS Location: In the Vicinity of Harris Teeter’s Entrance Address: 26191 John J Williams Hwy Millsboro, DE 19966 On Friday evening, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle collision on John J. Williams Highway in the vicinity of the Harris Teeter Market. It was reported to have a two vehicle collision with possible occupant refusals for additional medical observations. Joseph H. Thompson, III was the assigned Duty Officer for the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company and identified the incident as reported. Engine #80-5 was assigned to take a defensive position in the left turn lane from John J. Williams Highway and initiate vehicle stabilization measures. Rescue 80 was assigned to incident clean up and fluid recovery measures. The Delaware State Fire Police were requested to shut down traffic on John J. Williams Highway for the duration of the incident. The Delaware State Police and the Delaware State Fire Police provided traffic control assistance via American Legion and Bay Farm Roads for the duration of the incident. It appears that the 2006 Ford F150 Pickup was traveling eastbound on John J. Williams Highway and collided with the silver Hyundai sedan that was exiting from the Harris Teeter Parking vicinity. Both vehicles came to rest side by side in the eastbound traffic lanes of John J. Williams Highway. The Delaware State Police are investigating.
