Springside Drive On Friday afternoon July 23rd, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted to provide manpower assistance to Milton Fire Department on a working structure (trailer) fire at 28588 West Springside Drive in West Cool Spring Acres near Harbeson, Delaware. Approximately five (5) minutes earlier, the Milton (Station #85), Lewes (Station #82) and Georgetown (Station #93) fire companies were alerted to the incident. Command 85 requested the additional manpower assistance. The emergency medical services from Sussex County Paramedics, Milton Fire Department, Lewes Fire Department, Georgetown VFW Ambulance coordinated and provided a firefighter rehabilitation effort based upon the high humidity and temperatures greater than 95°. Capegazette.com Cool Spring fire guts mobile home Flames gutted a mobile home on Cool Spring Farm Road around 3 p.m. Friday, July 23. Firefighters squelched the blaze before it could damage surrounding homes. Carl Hansen, who lives behind the house, said he called 911 when he spotted smoke from his back porch. Within minutes, he said, the rear corner of the house was engulfed. "It was really going," he said. Hansen said he wasn't sure if anyone was home. Details are pending from fire officials.
