Monday July, 12 2010 @ 16:40:52 Nature: Vehicle Fire Address: Cannon Rd & Indian Mission Rd Millsboro, DE 19966 On Monday, July 12th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle fire on Cannon Road just west of Indian Mission Road (State Route #5). Sussex County Emergency Medical Services Supervisor (EMS 100) responded and reported heavy black smoke in the vicinity and arrived on-scene stipulating a fully involved vehicle fire. Engine #80-3 responded from the Long Neck facility and Engine #80-1 responded from the Oak Orchard facility. Incident Command was coordinated by Jason M. Faulkner, Sr. and requested that the Engine #80-3 stop short of the scene and activate its trash line for immediate suppression. Engine #80-1 was assigned to assist the other firefighters with extinguishment, vehicle stabilization and access to all compartments. It appears that the vehicle was traveling west on Cannon Road from Indian Mission Road. The Delaware State Police were evaluating the incident.
