Thursday June, 24 2010 @ 19:28:14 Nature: Structure Fire – Assist Station #82 Address: 71 Gainsborough Court, Lewes, DE 19958 On Thursday evening, during a severe thunderstorm, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted to assist the Lewes Fire Department with a structure fire on Gainsborough Court, Rolling Meadows development in the vicinity of the Wawa near Troop #7 of the Delaware State Police. Indian River (Station #80) and Rehoboth Beach (Station #86) fire companies were assisting Lewes Fire Department (Station #82) with a structure fire. The incident was caused by an apparent lightning strike which caused a fire in the crawlspace. Many of the responding units were cancelled enroute to the scene location after the situation was placed under control by the Lewes Fire Department Incident Command.
