Wednesday June, 16 2010 @ 11:05:45 Nature: Field Fire Address: 22700 - 23087 Angola Beach Rd, Lewes, DE 19958 On Wednesday morning of June 16th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted to assist the Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company (Station #86) with a field fire on Angola Beach Road. The Lewes Fire Company (Station #82) was also alerted to assist during this incident as well. It was reported that a barley field has caught fire and was spreading. The quick response of the volunteer fire company allowed the extinguishment of the fire without any residential or commercial structure fire damage. All units were required to quickly extinguish the spread of the fire and secure more permanent remedies (on-going, continual soaking) once the incident was placed under control. The origin of the incident is unknown.
