Nature: Residential Property Fire
Location: Carolina Street, Dewey Beach, DE
On Tuesday morning, June 8th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted to assist the Rehoboth Beach (Station 86), Bethany Beach (Station 70) and Lewes (Station 82) fire companies with a reported residential property (structure) fire on Carolina Street in Dewey Beach. Indian River’s emergency response apparatus were assigned to provide stand-by coverage of the Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company.

UPDATE: Fire in Dewey Beach yesterday damages shed
Here is the very latest on the fire that occurred yesterday morning in Dewey Beach on Carolina Street. At first it was reported to be a house that was on fire, but now the State Fire Marshal’s office tells WGMD it was an 8-by-8 shed in the backyard. There was damage to the shed and fences dividing the properties but no one was hurt.
Earlier reports via WGMD:
A House was on fire this morning on Carolina Street in Dewey Beach, and a few of the area fire companies responded, but they have now gone back. There’s no information as of yet on a cause or whether or not there were any injuries. WGMD will have that information as it becomes available.
EARLIER REPORT via WGMD:
WGMD has learned that a fire has just occurred at a house on Carolina Street in Dewey Beach. A witness reported seeing smoke driving on Route One. Rehoboth fire crews are on the scene as are the Lewes, Bethany Beach and Indian River fire companies.
