Monday May, 10 2010 @ 18:38:35 Nature: Structure Fire Address: 5019 Beverly Lane, Milton, DE 19968 On Monday evening at approximately 6:38 p.m., the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company as alerted for a tanker assist to provide water resources for Milton (Station. #85) Fire Department during a working structure fire on Beverly Lane off of Cave Neck Road. It was identified that at approximately 6:05 p.m., the Milton Fire Department (Station #85), Lewes Fire Department (Station #82) & Georgetown Fire Company (Station #77) were dispatched to a reported working pool shed fire. With emergency apparatus responding, the incident was upgraded to a working garage apartment fire with exposures. Command 85 was immediately on-scene and requested additional tankers from Slaughter Beach (Station #89) and Indian River (Station #80). The fire was quickly placed under control with extensive overhaul remaining. The Office of the State Fire Marshal is investigating. The News-Journal - May 11, 2010 Fire causes $85,000 damage to pole barn The state Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating a blaze that caused about $85,000 in damage Monday to a pole barn east of Milton. The fire in the 30-by-40-foot structure in the 5000 block of Beverly Lane was reported just after 6 p.m. Firefighters from Ellendale, Indian River, Georgetown, Milton, Lewes, and Memorial fire departments found heavy flames when they arrived, threatening two houses nearby. No injuries were reported. Investigators said the fire started in wiring and was caused by an electrical malfunction
