Saturday December, 19 2009 @ 15:21:45 Nature: Traffic/Transportation Acdnt BLS Location: Gull Point Address: 30628 Gull Point Rd Millsboro, DE On Saturday afternoon, December 19th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a personal injury vehicle collision on Gull Point Road near the entrance to Warwick Park. An incident synopsis was provided via the Sussex County Emergency Operations Center which identified a single vehicle accident and possible one patient, no entrapment. Indian River’s Duty Officer Hayden Klingler responded directly to the incident location and identified that a single vehicle was traveling south east on Warwick Road approaching the entrance to Gull Point town houses. It appears that the vehicle was attempting to navigate the curve while traveling on an icy, snow filled roadway surface. The vehicle slid off the roadway onto the shoulder and struck a chain linked fence and fence post causing minor damage and broke windshield to the vehicle. The occupant of the vehicle required medical attention and was transported to the nearby medical facilities. The incident is under investigation by the Delaware State Police. The Delaware State Fire Police provided roadway assistance, traffic control measures and transportation of the related family members back to their respective residential location.
