The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company is pleased to announce that Chief Steven C. Deery, Jr. was sworn into County offices at the Sussex County Volunteer Firemen's Association monthly meeting in Laurel on Tuesday, October 27th. Chief Deery assumes the Second Vice Chairman of the Sussex County Fire Chief's Association. Steven joins other Indian River personnel who also hold elected and appointed positions with organizations throughout the County: Roland F. Walker, Jr. – Immediate Past President – Sussex County Volunteer Firemen’s Association; David G. Blumenthal – Second Chairman of the Sussex County Volunteer Fire Police Association; Raymond E. Collas – Treasurer of the Sussex County Volunteer Fire Police Association; William F. Tobin, Jr., Second Vice Chairman of the Delaware Volunteer Firefighters Association. The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company appreciates the work these individuals perform, not only within our own organization but throughout the County and State.
