Thursday September, 24 2009 @ 16:38:13 Nature: Traffic/Transportation Acdnt BLS Location: SECURITY GUARD SHACK Address: Pot Nets Rd – Pot Nets Bayside - Millsboro, DE 19966 On Thursday afternoon, September 24th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a personal injury vehicle collision at the entrance to Pot Nets Bayside just off Pot Nets Road. It was reported that a vehicle had collided with the Guard House Structure situated at the Main Entrance to the Pot Nets Bayside community. Engine #80-5 was the initial response apparatus to arrive on-scene and initiated the following activities: assistance with patient stabilization, where needed; vehicle stabilization; evaluation of the facility and structure to ascertain worthiness of building; and absorption of the vehicle fluids prior to extraction of the vehicle. Manpower assistance was provided by emergency response personnel from Rescue 80. It appears that a white Chevrolet Conversion Van was traveling down Pot Nets Road attempting to enter the development of Pot Nets Bayside and failed to navigate the curve for some unknown reason. The vehicle jumped on the median strip and ran into the structure causing damage to both the building and the vehicle. The Delaware State Police are investigating the incident.
