Nature: Structure Fire

On Saturday evening, May 12, 2018, while assisting with incident mitigation on Lakewood Drive, the Indian River (80) and Lewes (82) Fire Department were alerted for a second emergency incident to assist the Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company with a structure fire on Club House Drive off of Old Landing Road. 

The initial arriving unit (Chief 86) identified heavy black smoke coming from the garage area. 

Emergency response units from Indian River included Engine #80-3 and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility and Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility.

Emergency response crews were requested to assist the Rehoboth Beach fire company from the manpower pool with evaluation and overhaul.

It appears that this garage area suffered heavy smoke and fire conditions but was quickly extinguished.

The Delaware State Fire Marshal is investigating.
