Thursday July 23, 2009 Nature: Motor Vehicle Accident / BLS Address: John J. Williams Hwy @ Gull Point Road Millsboro, DE 19966 Early Thursday morning on July 23rd, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a personal injury vehicle collision on the “S” curve between Gull Point Road and Cordrey Road on John J. Williams Highway. It was reported to our Duty Officer – Eric Ruckle that two vehicles collided head-on while rounding the curve immediately off of Gull Point Road. Duty Officer Ruckle identified to responding apparatus that two vehicles collided head-on and there was one occupant of each vehicle that needed evaluation based upon mechanism of injury. All responding emergency response personnel were assigned to assist with patient care and to commence with vehicle stabilization. The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated the traffic control measures based upon the roadway being shut down for the duration of the incident. The Delaware State Police are investigating the incident.
