Thursday May, 28 2009 @ 15:19:58 Nature: Traffic/Transportation Acdnt ALS Address: 27428 John J Williams Hwy Millsboro, DE 19966 On Thursday afternoon, May 28th at approximately 3:19 p.m., the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a personal injury motor vehicle collision on John J. Williams Highway in the vicinity of Gull Point Road. It was reported that two vehicles collided on John J. Williams Highway for an unknown reason. The impact of the collision caused substantial damage to both vehicles and required vehicle extrication measures to be enacted in order to gain access to the occupants of the vehicle. The emergency response personnel responding on Rescue 80 were assigned to perform vehicle stabilization, scene stabilization as well as preparing for vehicle extrication measures to be utilized. The white Chrysler PT Cruiser required a door pop maneuver to gain access to the occupant of the vehicle while the Chevrolet Malibu required a complete removal of the door to gain access to the occupant of the vehicle. The Delaware State Fire Police assisted with traffic control measures and the Delaware State Police are investigating the incident.
