Thursday January, 1 2009 @ 14:28:00 Nature: Traffic / Transportation Acdnt BLS Address: 25909-26018 School Lane, Millsboro, DE 19966 On Thursday afternoon, January 1st at approximately 2:28 p.m., the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a personal injury vehicle incident on School Lane. Apparently, a blue Saturn was traveling on School Lane and departed the roadway for an unknown reason striking trees and rolling onto its side. The vehicle came to rest in a wooded area wedged between some trees and underbrush. The occupants of the vehicle were minors and did not receive any substantial injuries pending parental advise. The incident is under investigation by the Delaware State Police. The Delaware State Fire Police was requested to monitor the scene and provide traffic assistance until the vehicle was removed. The estimated personnel costs (28 members @ Delaware Minimum Wage Rate plus social security costs) and equipment response costs (flat billing rate as determined by FEMA) for this incident are estimated to be $270. The incident response was twenty-eight members for 39 minutes in-service.
