Sunday December, 28 2008 @ 02:57:47 Nature: Traffic Transportation Accident BLS Address: 27316-27332 John J Williams Hwy Millsboro, DE 19966 Early Sunday morning on December 28th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a personal injury vehicle collision on John J. Williams Highway west of Gull Point Road at approximately 2:57 a.m. It was reported via the Sussex County Emergency Operations Center that a single vehicle collided with a utility pole causing substantial damage to the vehicle as well as multiple patient entrapments with injuries and possibly one occupant ejection. Upon arrival of emergency response personnel, it was determined to have three occupants of the vehicle with potential patient entrapment of two occupants and one patient lying outside of the vehicle on the ground as observed by Duty Officer, Joseph Thompson. Responding personnel were requested to initiate vehicle stabilization, patient stabilization and traffic control measures to ensure scene safety and closure of John J. Williams Highway. The Delaware State Police are investigating the incident.
