Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: 30226 Cordrey Rd Millsboro, DE 19966

On Monday, February 26^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company, Sussex County Paramedics, Delaware State Police Aviation (Trooper 2), and local emergency service provider were alerted for a vehicle accident on Cordrey Road off of Mount Joy Road.  It was reported to be a single vehicle rollover.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Ladder 80 and Chief 80-15 from the Oak Orchard area and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck area as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, assist with patient stabilization if needed, and traffic control.

It appears that the dark green Chevrolet SUV was traveling on Cordrey Road and failed to successfully navigate the sharp curves, ran into the field and overturned.  The vehicle was occupied by an adult and a small child who self extricated from the vehicle.  Both were transported to local medical facilities for additional observations.  Engine #80-1 was cancelled prior to arrival at the scene.  The Delaware State Police Aviation Unit was cancelled while responding.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
