Story
Vehicle Accident ā€“ River Road ā€“ County Road #312 On August 26, 2008, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on River Road with the occupant reported trapped. It appears that during the mid-day hours, a pick-up truck was traveling east on River Road just past the Indian River Yacht Club collided with a white dump truck that was traveling west on River Road. The incident occurred on the sharp ā€œSā€ curve between the Indian River Yacht Club and the Riverside Inn. After striking the dump truck, the pick-up truck continued to travel across the roadway and came to rest near a group of mailboxes and the front yard of an adjacent residential property owner. The driver of the white dump truck did not need any medical attention; however, the driver of the pick up truck required vehicle extrication measures. Units responding to the incident were assigned to perform vehicle stabilization and prepare for extrication. The Delaware State Police Aviation Unit (Trooper #2) was utilized to transport the vehicle occupant to nearby medical facilities. The Delaware State Police are investigating the incident.
