Saturday August, 30 2008 @ 01:53:52 Nature: Traffic/Transportation Accident ALS Address: 25088-25105 Banks Rd Millsboro, DE 19966 At approximately 1:53 a., Saturday morning, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a personal injury vehicle accident on Banks Road near Friendship School. It was determined that a single vehicle was traveling east on Banks Road while navigating the sharp curves and apparently lost control. The vehicle traveled off the roadway surface and striking a tree and the fencing that borders Baywood Greens. It was determined that a single vehicle occupant needed extrication from the vehicle. The Duty Officer, Joseph Thompson requested that Engine #80-5 initiate vehicle stabilization and extrication techniques to free the vehicle’s occupant. The emergency response personnel from Rescue 80 were assigned with vehicle stabilization and extrication. The occupant of the vehicle was transported to local medical facilities by the local emergency services provider and assisted with patient care by the Sussex County Paramedics. The Delaware State Police are investigating the incident.
