On Saturday afternoon, January 27th, the Indian River (80) and Dagsboro (73) fire companies were alerted to assist Millsboro (83) with an outside fire that was upgraded to a structure fire involving multiple outbuildings, sheds, and/or storage facilities. Emergency response units from Indian River Tanker 80 and Brush #80-00 from the Oak Orchard facility, Engines #80-1, and #80-3 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police. Emergency response personnel assignments included assistance with fire suppression, water resources, and overhaul. It appears that a control burn managed to get out of hand and ignite a nearby storage building for hay and other out buildings on a residential location off of Washington Street Extended in Millsboro. The Lewes (82) Fire Department provided a cover up assignment for Indian River.
