Story
On Sunday morning, February 17, 2007, the Indian River, Millsboro, and Lewes fire companies were alerted for a reported working structure fire on Mount Joy Road. Chief Steven Deery was the initial fire personnel on scene and advised of a heavy smoke condition from the rear garage area of a residential structure. Firefighters made an interior suppression initiative and were able to bring the fire under control quickly. The incident involved a computer work room that included blue prints and drawings which required efforts to preserve as many drawings, reports, professional communications as possible. The other responding fire companies were cancelled enroute to this incident. No injuries were reported and this incident is under investigation by the Office of the Delaware State Marshal.
