Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted to assist the Lewes Fire Department with a residential structure fire on Danfield Lane just off State Route #5 near Indian Mission on Monday evening at approximately 7:30 p.m. Engines #80-2 and #80-5 responded from our Long Neck facility and reported heavy fire and smoke showing immediately upon arrival and were on scene for an extended period of time before bringing the incident under control. The Delaware State Fire Marshal is investigating.
