Nature: Community Assistance and Medical &/or Manpower Assist Responses

City: Oak Orchard – Long Neck Area

On Saturday, January 6th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company assisted various community residents and designated areas in order to open pathways via streets to enhance access and maneuverability of personal vehicles.

Emergency response vehicles included Utility 80 to open up hard to access areas and streets in nearby communities such:  Delaware Oyster Farms, Oak Orchard, Long Neck, Holiday Pines and roadway such as Mercer Avenue, Basin Avenue, Walker Road, Circle Drive and others.

Pursuant to the request of various residential owner contacts to the fire station, State Representative Ruth Briggs-King, and Sussex County Emergency Operations Center, we have been asked to assist designated community areas included but not limited help the local emergency medical services provider gaining traction in order transverse public streets.
