Late Saturday evening (08/25/2007), the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a reported overdue vessel. Rescue apparatus from Indian River, the United States Coast Guard, and the Delaware State Police Aviation Section, were dispatched to participate in the forty minute search. In was reported that the overdue vessel (24’ foot pontoon boat) with three occupants aboard may have been experiencing engine trouble earlier in the day. After a brief search of the Indian River and Rehoboth bays, the vessel was located and all parties on board were okay.
