On Tuesday afternoon, July 3, 2007, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a motor vehicle collision on Long Neck Road at the entrance of Dash-In. Upon arrival of Second Assistant Chief Steven Hawkins, it was determined to have one vehicle versus an ambulance from a for profit provider. Both occupants of the ambulance were uninjured; however there were three patients with minor injuries from the car. All occupants of the vehicle were transported to a local medical facility for observation. Rescue personnel were utilized to assist with patient care, securing the vehicles, traffic control, and cleaning up fluids on the roadway. The Delaware State Police are investigating.
