Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: Indian Mission Rd and Cannon Road, Millsboro, DE 19966

On Tuesday afternoon, November 21^st, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Indian Mission Road near the Cannon Road intersection.  It was reported to be multiple vehicles and involving a deer.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Engines #80-1 and #80-3 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police and the local emergency medical services provider.

Emergency response assignments included vehicle stabilization, debris and fluid recovery, traffic control, and roadway clean up from the deer remnants.

It appears that a gold Buick Sedan was traveling on Indian Mission Road and struck a deer that was attempting to cross the roadway.  Immediately thereafter, another deer and a white Chevrolet Pick Up collided at or near the same location causing traffic in both directions to be impacted for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating the incident.

All emergency response units were allowed to return to their respective response area.
