During the early morning hours of June 16, 2007, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a motor vehicle collision (MVC). Upon arrival of Captain Jason Faulkner, it was determined to have a single vehicle crash. Apparently, the westbound vehicle had left the roadway for unknown reason, struck a few road signs and a tree before rolling over an unknown amount of times and coming to rest in a wooded area. The patient had self extricated himself from the vehicle prior to arrival of emergency response personnel. Emergency response crews were utilized to secure the vehicle and assist with patient care. The occupant was transported to a local medical facility. The incident is under investigation by the Delaware State Police.
