Story
Early morning hours of Thursday, May 18, 2007, a passerby notified the Sussex County Emergency Operations Center of a residential structure fire at the intersection of Indian Mission Road (Route #5) and Hollymount Road (County Road #285). Fire Captain Jason Faulkner arrived on location and identified smoke to be showing from the residence and notified responding apparatus that this would be a working structure fire in a multiple story farm house. Firefighters entered to structure to conduct suppression initiatives. Aerial apparatus were utilized to ventilate the structure. The Lewes, Millsboro, Georgetown, Milton, Gumboro and Dagsboro fire companies were utilized to assist with bringing this incident under control. The Rehoboth Beach and Bethany Beach fire companies provided stand-by coverage for the responding companies in Lewes and Long Neck. There were no firefighter or civilian injuries. This is under investigation by the Delaware State Fire Marshal's Office.
