On Thursday, March 22, 2007 shortly after 9 a.m., the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted to assist the Lewes Fire Department with a working structure fire in the Ship Carpenter Square area of Lewes. The following entities were alerted to provide assistance with this emergency incident:

Indian River Volunteer Fire Company, Station #80;
Georgetown Fire Department, Station #77;
Millsboro Volunteer Fire Company, Station #83;
Memorial (Slaughter Beach) Volunteer Fire Company, Station #89;
Ellendale Volunteer Fire Company, Station #75;
Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office; and
Sussex County Paramedics
