During the week of October 23-26, 2006 members of the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company have conducted numerous fire prevention training initiatives with the students of the Long Neck Elementary School. Most children had an opportunity to participate in a "bucket brigade" exercise which utilizes a fire hose to fill buckets, and they received explanations of different tools that are utilized on a fire apparatus. Firefighters also had the utilized this opportunity to have lunch with the students at the school.
