Nature: Vehicle Accident Possibly Serious

Location: Banks Rd near Pond Road, Millsboro, DE  19966

On Friday, October 13, 2017, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Banks Road near the entrance to Winding Creek Village.  It was reported to be a single vehicle rollover with possible entrapment where occupants cannot get out.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Ladder 80 from the Oak Orchard facility, Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as Chief 80-15 and the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, assistance with patient stabilization, traffic control, and incident mitigation.

It appears that an Isuzu Rodeo SUV was traveling on Banks Road and lost control, rolling over, and striking a tree and fencing.  The occupant was unable to exit the vehicle and needed assistance with extrication.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control and closed Banks Road at or near the Long Neck intersection.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
