Story
On Wednesday, April 12, 2006 at 11:02 a.m., the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a motor vehicle incident at the intersection of John J Williams Highway and Legion Road. While enroute to the incident, the Sussex County Emergency Operations Center advised Chief Steven Deery that initial calls reported minor injuries. On the arrival of Emergency Medical Services, it was determined two occupants were seriously injured and there was entrapment for some of the vehicle occupants. All responding Fire and Rescue personnel were required to remove the door from two of vehicles for occupant extrication. After the occupants were extricated from the vehicle, both were transported to area hospitals in serious condition. This incident was under the command of Chief Steven Deery
