Tuesday August, 29 2017 @ 10:42 Nature: Structure Fire Location: Next To Address - 460 Woodside Rd Millsboro, DE 19966 On Tuesday morning, August 29th, the Indian River (80), Millsboro (83), and Lewes (82) fire companies were alerted for a residential structure fire on Woodside Road in the Winding Creek development off of Banks Road. Emergency response units from Indian River included Engines #80-1 and #80-3 and Utility 80-11 as well as the Delaware State Fire Police. Emergency response crews arrived and identified a heavy smoke condition showing and placed an 1 3/4" fire suppression line in service. Engine 80-1 and Engine 82-9's crew pulled a second line made entry through the front door to check for extensions. Other arriving units assisted with overhaul and other fire ground operations. All fire was contained to the garage area of the residence. While operating on scene Indian River was alerted for two additional emergency incidents within the fire district. These incidents were a medical assist incident and a vehicle accident on Long Neck Road. Apparatus from Lewes (82-9) was clearing from this initial fire scene and responded to the other alerts. The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating. An occupant of the residential structure was transported to nearby medical facilities for additional observations associated with the incident.
