On Saturday, February 25, 2006, ten Indian River Firefighters provided a stand-by crew for the Christiana Volunteer Fire Company in Christiana, Delaware. Along with the outstanding camaraderie, Indian River firefighters were given a taste of firefighting "Christiana Style." While standing by, our crews responded to four alarms; which included a working townhouse fire and motor vehicle accidents. Chief Steven C. Deery, Jr. provided guidance with this crew of personnel. The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company expresses our gratitude to the Christiana Fire Company for their wonderful hospitality and for the camaraderie that was shared.
